Today SEGA launched the official
Shadow the Hedgehog website, to prepare gamers for its November 15 launch. The website offers fans a look at the good vs evil mission system, inside information, game environments, weapons, vehicles, screens, movies, minigames, wallpapers, screensavers, but also background of Shadow's quest and the various characters he might meet along the way; from Black Doom, to the rigid G.U.N. Federation Commander, Dr. Eggman, and Sonic, Knuckles, and Rouge.

During SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog induction into the Walk of Game tonight, it was revealed with a brief trailer that SEGA is working on a new title in the franchise, but this time the focus will be on Sonic's sworn enemy, Shadow. While no details were disclosed, it will be yet another platformer, albeit with some twists, and the clip showed environments and gave you a taste of what to expect, graphics-wise. Shadow the Hedgehog is scheduled for fall 2005, and SEGA promised there will be more information about "several" new Sonic titles. Read more to download the trailer and see for yourself.

SEGA today announced that it will deliver its top-selling franchise of all time -- Sonic The Hedgehog -- to the largest audience of gamers worldwide, launching four new Sonic The Hedgehog games on all next-generation console and handheld platforms this fiscal year. The highly-anticipated "Sonic Heroes," an all-new title in the Sonic The Hedgehog series, will debut on the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, Nintendo GameCube and the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. Additionally, building off the success of the Sonic franchise on Nintendo GameCube, SEGA will release "Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut" exclusively for Nintendo GameCube. Finally, Sonic will return to the Game Boy Advance with the release of "Sonic Pinball Party" and "Sonic Battle."

SEGA Corporation today announced that "Sonic Adventure 2 Battle" for Nintendo GameCube and "Sonic Advance" for GameBoy Advance have each shipped one million units worldwide respectively since their initial retail debuts beginning December 2001 in Japan, February, 2002 in the U.S. and March 2002 in Europe. Building upon the global success of the Sonic The Hedgehog series, the company also announced three new Sonic The Hedgehog titles including "Sonic Mega Collection" and a new "Sonic Adventure" game for Nintendo GameCube and Sonic Advance 2" for GameBoy Advance.

Sega of America today announced that its recently launched "Sonic Adventure 2 Battle" for the Nintendo GameCube was the #1 selling game for the system in its first week of sales according to independent retail data from NPD TRSTS (week ending 2/16/02). Selling five times more than the #2 title and as much as the next 12 titles combined, "Sonic Adventure 2 Battle" marks the debut of Sega's mascot, Sonic The Hedgehog, on a new next-generation video game system.
