Shrapnel Games announced today that the first Space Empires: IV Gold patch. This patch, v1.78, adds features and enhancements and fixes bugs. Besides fixing a number of small bugs, the AI has been tweaked and some additional fixes were added to TCP/IP play.

This beta will allow you to play a single multiplayer map through all 15 of the expansion pack's ages and test out the new units, powers, and buildings being added to the original game. Sierra and MadDoc Software today announced that starting Monday, August 5th, thousands of gamers will have the opportunity to participate in the public beta test for Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest, their upcoming expansion pack for last year's runaway hit real-time strategy game, Empire Earth. The beta test program will focus on multiplayer play balancing and load testing to ensure the best possible launch for the ambitious expansion pack.

Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided will immerse players in a persistent online recreation of the Star Wars universe, as portrayed in the classic Star Wars film trilogy. Players will be able to participate in the civil war, the legendary battle between the courageous Rebel Alliance and the oppressive Galactic Empire. The beta test program, which will allow many of the site's community members to experience the game for the first time, is scheduled to begin July 15, 2002. In development by Mad Doc Software and due on store shelves this Fall, Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest expands the scope of Empire Earth further into the future, allowing for planetary conquest. The expansion pack offers a new Space Age Epoch that covers the time period from 2200 to 2300 A.D., Earth's near future, and adds three new single-player campaigns, unique units, buildings, special powers and more to Empire Earth. Players have conquered new lands before, but this time to continue the dominance of their civilization, they must cross the boundaries of space.

Empire Interactive has announced that Antonio Fargas, aka Huggy Bear, has been signed for the in-game voice-overs and to help promote the PlayStation 2 and PC versions of its new “Starsky & Hutch” game. Helping Starsky and Hutch clean up the streets, Huggy was present in almost every episode of the hugely popular 70’s show.
