A
New York Times article covering the past, present and future of LucasArts, and its president Jim Ward, reveals that the company is working on a new title set in the Star Wars Universe. Although there are no plans for upcoming movies, there is still a vast untapped resource of material that can be used for games, and the NYT writer was privy to a demo of a yet unannounced game revolving around Darth Vader's history. No further details were disclosed, but with E3 around the corner, we will have all the latest details when we meet up with George Lucas' gang.

MTV Films and Paramount have
signed Sean O'Keefe and Will Staples to write the movie script for Atari Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure video game, a story about a young graffiti artist who goes on the run after discovering a dirty secret about government officials in his city. O'Keefe and Staples most recently adapted the comic book Fathom for Fox, Columbia's The Murder of King Tut and The Northmen. Marc Ecko will co-produce, no director has been assigned yet.

RedOctane announced today that Johnny Napalm and friends will begin touring the US again this Fall in the new videogame Guitar Hero II. BFME 2 takes part in the North where a battle is raging between Sauron's forces vs. elves and dwarves. It will be possible to create/customize your own hero, apart from known figures such as Arwin, and become more powerful as you progress in the game. We already carried the rumor
back in February, but the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine is sporting a front cover and feature article about Monolith's horror/shooter F.E.A.R. coming to Xbox 360. OXM only gave a sneak peek of its front page, confirming our earlier suspicions, but no details from the actual article, or release date have been reprinted yet. An official announcement should be coming soon, and F.E.A.R. on the X360 will probably be playable at E3 so we'll bring you the latest during our week-long live coverage.

Valve announced that it is frantically trying to put the finishing touches on Episode One for preloading to begin May 1st. "The past couple of days have been spent with the team adding commentary tracks. Hopefully it will be interesting for people to gain some insight into our development processes.
