In 2004, the EU ordered Microsoft to share program code with rivals as part of a ruling in its antitrust lawsuit. Now the EU believes Microsoft did not fully comply and
imposed a $357 million fine, and threatened new penalties of $3.82 million a day beginning July 31. Microsoft of course immediately said it would appeal the fine in court, saying the unprecedented fine is not justified. EU Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes says after two years, she feels Microsoft has still not put an end to its illegal conduct, justifying the penalty payments.

SteamPowered website has been updated with details on a new Half-Life 2: Deathmatch patch adding a player "ready" command, objects no longer hide tripwire slams, it explodes, and scores no longer get updated after the round is over, fixing the case where a player is standing next to a grenade or flaming barrel when the round ends.
