Microsoft today announced that two new MechWarrior 4 'Mech Paks will be available in retail locations throughout North America this year. The Paks will expand the gameplay for the best-selling, award-winning MechWarrior 4: Vengeance, based on the popular game of mechanized combat from FASA Studios. Each Pak will give players new 'Mechs, a new electronics package, a new weapon, and a multiplayer map. Cyberlore, the team behind the successful MechWarrior 4: Black Knight expansion, is developing the Paks in conjunction with the FASA MechWarrior 4 team.

VE: You know, being a first person shooter fan, I love guns. Can I get them in FF for my hero, and can I have really big guns that blow things up?
Ken: You can create gun powers with the super power creator. All of the guns in the game, from the standard gunpowder type to the super ray guns and their ilk are created with our super power creator. Every power in the game is created with the system and the end user has access to the same tools as we do. And of course, unlike shooters, EVERYTHING actually can blow up.

THQ Inc. today unveiled Toxic Grind, a story-driven, mission-based BMX game for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo Gamecube. Set in the year 2097, players will assume the role of BMX rider Jason Hayes who has been forced to ride for his life with other riders on the set of a sadistic television game show entitled Toxic Grind. Sierra Entertainment, a studio of Vivendi Universal Publishing, and Argonaut Games PLC today announced Malice, a platform-adventure game featuring the most unexpected heroine to come to the console arena, is coming to the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system. Trakers is an new online role playing first person shooter that uses the Torque Game Engine "same engine as Tribes 2 use". The screens reminds us a bit of Ghost Recon. Here is a small description from devs about the game:
What makes this game different to other first person shooters is the fact that every player is different. Everyone runs at different speeds, fire weapons in different ways, has different skills, can carry different amounts, etc, etc. The game are getting fairly close to an alpha.

Ubi Soft Entertainment today announced the signing of an exclusive European publishing contract with Bethesda Softworks Inc., a ZeniMax Media company. The agreement covers nine games, including several yet-to-be-announced titles and the highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for PC and Xbox video game system from Microsoft, as well as the award-winning Sea Dogs for PC. Sea Dogs will be released in Q1 2002 and Morrowind will arrive in Spring 2002.
