As promised, Eugen Systems and Arxel Tribe have released an updated demo for The Gladiators: Galactic Circus Games, their imminent 3D action RTS. This version 2.0 demo offers two single-player missions, one playable as the main character Callahan and the other as Fargass, along with international language support (German, French and Italian). Westwood Studios announced today that it will release a content update of Earth & Beyond this month that includes several new missions, high-level items, new information on trade goods, and enhancements to the embedded browser. Earth & Beyond is an online role-playing galaxy that is published by Electronic Arts under the EA GAMES brand.

Got Game Entertainment today announced that its upcoming PC adventure game, "Tony Tough and the Night of Roasted Moths" went gold last week and will hit retail shelves on Halloween. With a title like that, GOT to get it ;)

Electronic Arts announced today the North American release of The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers video game for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and revealed plans to bring this highly-anticipated title to the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube later this year. The Nintendo Game Boy Advance version will ship on Tuesday, November 12.

Midway Games Inc. announced today that Defender, an all-new 3-D version of the popular 1980s arcade classic, has shipped for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system. Defender is scheduled to ship for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube and the Game Boy Advance on Nov. 4, 2002.

THQ Inc. today announced that "Toxic Grind," the first story-driven, mission-based BMX game, has shipped exclusively for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. "Toxic Grind" immerses players in a completely unique, story-driven experience, where they must "ride for their life" as fictional BMX rider Jason Hayes. "Toxic Grind" is now available at major retail outlets nationwide.

Japan-based videogame publishing powerhouse Kemco and comic book giant DC Comics announced together that they will create a limited edition, two-part comic book that will serve as a prequel to the storyline of Kemco's upcoming action/adventure title, "Batman: Dark Tomorrow." The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal, is an expansion pack for the critically acclaimed and multi-award winning RPG, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for PC. Tribunal will introduce additional content and features, and adventures into the already staggering game world of Morrowind. The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal will be released in Europe this November in an English language version, with localized French and German versions following in early 2003.

Telegraph UK reports that Eidos, the computer games designer, is in last-ditch talks with Sony to meet the November launch date of its latest Lara Croft game for the PlayStation 2. Delaying the high-profile launch - ahead of the vital Christmas trading period - would be a serious blow for Eidos. However, with just four weeks to go, it is understood that Eidos has yet to submit the game to Sony Computer Entertainment for approval. That process usually takes between three and four weeks. Even a week's delay could be damaging for Eidos. In the US, the Thanksgiving weekend of November 29 to 31 is a particularly important selling period.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, is a single player lite-RPG where the player follows the storyline of The Fellowship of the Ring, the first volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's saga. Throughout the game, the player will have control over the Fellowship members, at times controlling up to nine characters at once. This title is considered a lite-RPG since it will streamline the usual number-crunching found in most RPG's and simplify it to a more action-oriented, quick-paced format. Combat is turn-based, like most RPG's, but will provide a default AI that will control character actions if the player so chooses.

This patch upgrades your retail copy to v2.01 and is for the ENGLISCH versions only, international patches will come later. Codemasters has released a new patch for Prisoner of War, if you are running WinMe or Win98 then get this update off the Codemasters downloads page. It address a problem with the wrong language chosen by the launcher and a problem where the launcher may start minimized. There is also a Privateer's Bounty patch available, updating the game to v1.04.151. This upgrade addresses improves multiplayer stability, a couple of bugs, damaged system and long distance views of the models. A few weeks after the English patch, there is now a German patch for Ghost Recon, likewise updating this edition of the squad-based tactical shooter by Red Storm Entertainment to version 1.3. As before, this release adds a huge number of changes, including gameplay, graphics, AI, editor and multiplayer improvements and fixes.
