Digital Jesters, founded by ex-CDV members in 2003, announced that it has reached an agreement with Take-Two to distribute PC games in North America. The games that are part of the agreement will be the first titles Digital Jesters has published in the U.S. Since Digital Jesters is self-publishing Bet on Soldier in North America, we can assume it will be part of the agreement.

Take-Two today announced that it has purchased certain rights to the multi-million unit selling Civilization franchise, and has signed a long-term, multi-title publishing agreement with FIRAXIS Games, developers of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri, SimGolf, Gettysburg, Civilization III, Pirates! and other critically acclaimed simulation and strategy games.

Take-Two announced today that it has established a new publishing label, 2K Games. 2K Games will publish a wide variety of both internally and externally developed console, PC and handheld products, including sports titles under the 2K Sports label. Numerous new products for the 2K Games label are expected to be announced in the coming months.

SEGA of America today confirmed that SEGA Corp. has agreed to transfer all common stock and related assets of Visual Concepts, the developer of the ESPN 2K5 series of sports games, to Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Last year it was already revealed that Take wo had the option of buying Visual Concepts after Sega and Take Two went into a codistribution deal for the ESPN titles.

Take-Two Interactive Software and TDK Mediactive announced an agreement today pursuant to which Take-Two will acquire all shares of outstanding common stock of TDK Mediactive. Under the terms of the agreement, Take-Two will purchase TDK Mediactive for approximately $22.7 million, consisting of (1) $0.55 per share for each of the 23,005,885 shares outstanding (approximately $12.6 million); (2) purchase of debt of approximately $9.9 million ($1.9 million in cash and $8 million in restricted shares of common stock of Take-Two, or approximately 270,000 shares); and (3) approximately $0.2 million to retire outstanding stock options.

The latest addition to Take Two's clutch of labels, Gotham Games, has announced that it's going to be on the look-out for new developers and games to sign up to its brand at E3 next week. The label will be showcasing three titles in Los Angeles, namely Celebrity Deathmatch, Conflict Desert Storm 2 and The Great Escape, and business development manager Juan Gutierrez will be on hand to meet with developers interested in working with the publisher.
