GTA IV: The Lost and Damned features a new main character and plot that intersects with the storyline of GTA IV; new missions that offer an entirely fresh way to explore Liberty City with new multiplayer modes, weapons and vehicles. According to Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Patcher, Rockstar's first DLC has been downloaded approximately one million times so far; he predicts a total of 2 million purchases before year's end.

rolled out new PlayStation Store content, starting with Watchmen: The End is Nigh ($19.99), High Velocity Bowling characters ($0.99), NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja STORM Pack 10 (free), Burnout Paradise toy car packs ($12.99), Skate 2 (free) Prince of Persia: Epilogue ($9.99), song packs for Guitar Hero World Tour, and Rock Band, demos for Wanted: Weapons of Fate, Watchmen, Age of Booty, as well as the usual game/movie trailers and PS3 themes.

While there is no official announcement yet, except for a
teaser trailer, a new BioShock title is no secret. While retail outlets
Gamestop
and
EBGames
have Take Two's action/horror follow-up pegged for an Oct. 5, 2009 release, details are nothing but guesswork so far. Previous rumors had BioShock 2 set as a prequel, but a newspaper clipping on the just-launched
teaser site indicates that the game might be set several years after the original.

Last year Gibson, one of the exclusive partners of the Guitar Hero franchise, filed a lawsuit
against Activision,
EA/MTV Games and
various retailers, claiming the game infringed on its 1999 patent for technology simulating a live performance using a musical instrument. Activision countersued, asking the U.S. District Court of California to declare Gibson's patent invalid and to bar it from seeking damages, and last Thursday, the U.S. District Court of Central California
did just that.
