Whether this is intentional or not, or whether the dates are set or mere projections, Activision Europe has released its upcoming titles release list revealing that Guitar Hero Metallica is scheduled for May, confirming the previously revealed Guitar Hero: Modern Hits for NDS. Indiana Jones: Scepter of Kings seems to be the full title for a new Indie game on NDS, PSP, PS2 and Wii. Other titles listed are Prototype, Monsters vs. Aliens and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, all scheduled for Q2.

Set 20 years after the events of the original, Star Ocean 2 also receives the full remake treatment aboard the PSP. The title takes the next step with fully animated movies, new character designs, extra playable characters, fully voiced dialogue, and more.

Sony has rolled out new PlayStation Store content, starting with Qore Ep. 08, Mercenaries 2 - Blow It Up Again DLC Pack ($1.99), Cuboid ($9.99), Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom ($9.99), Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Pack 6 (free), Tom Clancy’s EndWar Faction Elite Pack ($3.75), WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 Roster Update ($4.99), song packs for Guitar Hero World Tour, Rock Revolution, Rock Band, and the usual game/movie trailers and PS3 themes.

The gaming industry was dealt a severe blow last year when Iron Lore, known for the Titan Quest & Dawn of War titles, failed to find funding for its next title and was forced to shut down. Two of its members, lead designer Arthur Bruno and art director Eric Campanella, formed Crate Entertainment last year and are currently sharing office space with Mass Effect PC developer Demiurge Studios. Having acquired the rights to Iron Lore's IPs, Crate Entertainment is currently working on Black Legion, the same RPG that IL was shopping around prior to its demise.

EA announced its initial plans for the PlayStation Home Beta, SCEA's 3D social gaming community that allows users to interact, communicate and share gaming experiences online. The EA Sports Complex, slated to launch this Spring, will allow fans to play exclusive new EA Sports multiplayer games, meet and interact with fans, view daily, weekly and annual leaderboards, as well as watch trailers and other content from their favorite EA Sports games.

Tom Clancy's EndWar is a next-gen strategy game, set on the battlefields of WWIII, that pushes the envelope of technology, showcasing unprecedented AI, graphics, physics and animations. While there is no official announcement yet, except for a teaser trailer, a BioShock sequel is no secret. Details on BioShock 2 are slim but today the first info has trickled through. The sequel will "mostly" be a prequel, and the iconic Big Daddy will feature aesthetic changes, such as a shoulder-mounted wooden cannon, smaller tank on his back, leather outfit instead of the dive gear, and a much more simplified helmet with only three forward-looking sight holes, unlike the multi-directional ones in the original.

Acquired by Sony in 2007, UK based Evolution Studios (known for the Motorstorm franchise) will be moving in with Sony's Liverpool Studio (known for WipEout HD). The two studios have cooperated in the past by sharing the Motorstorm PS3 game engine, as well as technical support for each other's titles, and according to Sony Europe's Michael Denny, it only makes sense that the two developers move under the same roof, as they are in the same geographic location.
