Vivendi Universal Games in association with Tigon Studios is bringing gamers an intense sci-fi experience from the point-of-view of the most wanted man in the Universe with the new videogame, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, which will be available on the Xbox. Set before the events of both Universal Pictures' upcoming summer release The Chronicles of Riddick, starring Vin Diesel, and the 2000 cult classic Pitch Black, which first introduced Diesel as enigmatic anti-hero Riddick, the game tells the story of Riddick's dramatic escape from the previously inescapable triple max security slam Butcher Bay, home to the most violent prisoners in the galaxy.

While we already revealed this last week, Game Developer Critical Mass Interactive today officially announced that it has acquired the interactive game rights to SWORD OF DRACULA, a military horror project based on the hit Image Comics series by creator Jason Henderson. CMI, which has been a part of major releases like the 2003 "Favorite Video Game" Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award winner "SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman" for PlayStation2 and GameCube, and Henderson plan to have a demo of the commandos-versus-vampires first person shooter game ready for the March 2004 Game Developers Conference in San Jose.

Today Midway Games had their financial results conference call for the 4th quarter of 2003 and while we could dazzle you with meaningless numbers of net losses and revenue's the interesting part was where Midway looked ahead and revealed some new/upcoming titles. Their upcoming action/horror titles (
check our Xbox preview) now also seems to be heading to the PC. The next, yet unnamed, Mortal Kombat 6 is scheduled for Fall 2004, will feature online multiplyer for both Xbox & PS2, same goes for Inevitable's (previously know for The Hobbit) Area 51. Ubisoft announced that they have launched
the official website for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow. The site contains up-to-date news, screenshots and trailers. The site is split into two main parts: single player experience and multiplayer experience. In both sections, visitors can learn about every aspect of the game from information about the characters, weapons and gadgets, to Sam's stealth moves. Coming soon to the site will be a training course where players may test their potential as a covert Splinter Cell operative by entering a state-of-the-art 3D stealth course. Once the game has shipped, the site will also offer comprehensive online rankings. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow is scheduled to ship March 24, 2004 for the Xbox, PC and GBA.

Atari is expanding the gameplay of Unreal II: The Awakening this December with Unreal II: The Awakening Special Edition for the personal computer.
