The U.S. Army announced today that it has teamed with Ultimate Arena to hold the AMD America's Army: Special Forces Tournament at E3. The tournament will be run by Ultimate Arena and supported by Even Balance's PunkBuster. The final match between a team of four civilians and four active duty U.S. Army Soldiers will take place at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) trade show in Los Angeles which runs May 12-14, 2004.

Today UK publisher SCi disclosed their latest finanical update and apart from the fact they booked a smaller loss than expected (these days that seems to be a good thing), it also reveals a few new products for fiscal year 2005/2006. SCi has enter a publishing deal with Rebellion for a new PS2/Xbox action title, Rogue Trooper, based on a 2000AD comic book. Vivendi Universal Games in association with Tigon Studios is bringing gamers an intense sci-fi experience from the point-of-view of the most wanted man in the Universe with the new videogame, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, which will be available on the Xbox. Rockstar Games is pleased to announce Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the next iteration in the globally successful Grand Theft Auto franchise. Developed by world-class designers Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be available exclusively for the PlayStation2 and is expected to be in stores in North America on October 19, 2004 and in Europe on October 22, 2004.

While we already revealed this last week, Game Developer Critical Mass Interactive today officially announced that it has acquired the interactive game rights to SWORD OF DRACULA, a military horror project based on the hit Image Comics series by creator Jason Henderson. CMI, which has been a part of major releases like the 2003 "Favorite Video Game" Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award winner "SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman" for PlayStation2 and GameCube, and Henderson plan to have a demo of the commandos-versus-vampires first person shooter game ready for the March 2004 Game Developers Conference in San Jose.

Today Midway Games had their financial results conference call for the 4th quarter of 2003 and while we could dazzle you with meaningless numbers of net losses and revenue's the interesting part was where Midway looked ahead and revealed some new/upcoming titles. Their upcoming action/horror titles (check our Xbox preview) now also seems to be heading to the PC. The next, yet unnamed, Mortal Kombat 6 is scheduled for Fall 2004, will feature online multiplyer for both Xbox & PS2, same goes for Inevitable's (previously know for The Hobbit) Area 51. Ubisoft announced that they have launched the official website for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow. The site contains up-to-date news, screenshots and trailers. The site is split into two main parts: single player experience and multiplayer experience. In both sections, visitors can learn about every aspect of the game from information about the characters, weapons and gadgets, to Sam's stealth moves. Coming soon to the site will be a training course where players may test their potential as a covert Splinter Cell operative by entering a state-of-the-art 3D stealth course. Once the game has shipped, the site will also offer comprehensive online rankings. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow is scheduled to ship March 24, 2004 for the Xbox, PC and GBA.

Ubisoft today announced third quarter sales for the fiscal year 2003/04 in which they reveal that their sales increased about 30% over last year, mainly due to a 50% growth in Europe. Atari is expanding the gameplay of Unreal II: The Awakening this December with Unreal II: The Awakening ­ Special Edition for the personal computer.
