While Activision will not finalize other financial results for Q2 until after the internal review regarding the grant practices it is being investigated for, it did release preliminary numbers. Net revenues for Q2 dropped from $222.5M to $188.2M, but it still exceeded expectations as earlier projections had estimated for a mere $130M, so Activision actually performed 45% stronger than anticipated.

Nival Interactive announced that it has sold its MMO spin-off Nival Online to an undisclosed party. Nival Interactive said the decision to spin-off its online initiative fits with the company’s strategy to focus on expanding into the global PC and console markets. According to an article in the
Boston Globe story, the National Institute on Media and the Family is boycotting Rockstar's Bully. After a staffer played the game for nine hours, its president, psychologist Dave Walsh, claims Bully glamorizes and rewards the kind of anti social behaviors that teachers struggle with every day. Now that the "T" rated game is out in stores the first press reviews praise Rockstar's latest game across the board, calling it one of the best titles of the year, a great satire, with excellent story and humor.
