Super Mario 3D Land is the first-ever true 3D Mario platforming adventure, where players can scout levels and find secrets before they play using the built-in gyro sensor feature of the Nintendo 3DS system. The game will feature propeller blocks and will have StreetPass functionality.

While not providing any specific details, Capcom revealed at  Nintendo's Tokyo Game Show press briefing that it is currently developing the next installment in the series for 3DS.

Yesterday we watched the U.S. Open women's finale and witnessed Serena Williams lose not only the match but her temper. She took out her subpar tennis out on the umpire by arguing a call, which ended up getting her a penalty and costing her the first set. While Samantha Stosur played good, solid tennis, Serena lost it on her own. My advice to Ms. Williams: less attitude, more tennis.

Now if only Kim Clijsters had been there!

Due to our travel plans, we couldn't make the Forza 4 preview event, but Adam will be attending the Gears of War 3 multiplayer review sessions this week. Lucky bastard!

We're almost packed for our New York trip. We're leaving at the asscrack of dawn with a 6:15 AM flight. There's no point in going to bed, so we can sleep it off during the six-hour flight, which should be enough to last us the rest of the day since we arrive in the afternoon.

One of our items of the to-do agenda is going to a Cirque du Soleil show, which we've been meaning to attend for a while, so it should be a fun outing.

In the meantime, I've been playing Dead Island, and it's more fun than I had anticipated. I'm a little bit disappointed in the lack of zombie dismemberment. I seem to recall screens and trailers that showed more gore, but I'm enjoying the RPG element and the exploration of the environment.

I was going to check out Space Marine as well, but alas, there isn't enough time!
