Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, sequel to Naughty Dog's 2007 PS3-exclusive action/adventure game, revolves around 13th century explorer Marco Polo, putting the focus on story, stealth gameplay and a free climbing mechanic.

While official word was scheduled for tomorrow, script writer Rob Yescombe spilled the beans early as he confirmed that the Crysis developer has acquired Free Radical. Known for its Timesplitters series and most recently Ubisoft's HAZE, the UK-based studio got itself in a spat of trouble last year and was forced to close down. Whether Crytek bought the studio only for its assets/IP or will let it restart and rehire, is unclear at this point. More details to come tomorrow ....

Zen Studios announced The Punisher: No Mercy coming exclusively to PlayStation Network. EA's Q3 2008 financial results reveal a slight increase in revenue, but higher than expected expenses and losses on investments resulted in a $641 million net loss, compared to 2007's $33 million. In addition to the previously announced The Sims 3 and Dragon Age: Origins delays, EA is also pushing back The Godfather II until fiscal 2010 (April 1 - June 30). EA had already announced it would close nine studios and lay off 10% of its employees, but in light of the actual results it will now close 3 additional locations and dismiss 11% of its staff. In the follow up conference call, EA CEO John Riccitiello revealed that Dead Space is coming to the Wii, while early next year we can expect Bad Company 2 (X360/PS3) and Mass Effect 2 (X360/PC).

Atlus U.S.A. announced that its delaying fours of its upcoming titles. Tokyo Beat Down (NDS), Hammerin' Hero (PSP), The Dark Spire (NDS) and Steal Princess (NDS) are all getting pushed back from their original dates to late March, mid April.

Ubisoft announced it will be expanding its studio operations to Vancouver, BC, Canada through the acquisition of video game developer Action Pants Inc. The studio currently employs more than 110 video game developers, and is working on a new Wii exclusive sports title, as well as unannounced PS3/X360 titles.
