MTV and Harmonix announced that next week's addition to the Rock Band Music Store will be a bunch of new tracks, System of a Down will add B.Y.O.B. and Toxicity to the mix (160 MSP$1.99) while the Cruefest track pack #2 includes Buckcherry's Rescue Me, Mötley Crüe's Face Down In The Dirt, and Sixx AM's Life Is Beautiful (each 80 MSP/$0.99 or 240 MSP/$2.99 for the pack)

Prince of Persia Movie Delayed Until Early 2010

In order to avoid going head to head with Michael Bay's Transformers: Rise of the Fallen on June 19, 2009, Disney has decided to delay the Prince of Persia movie until May 28, 2010 according to Coming Soon. Starring starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Artertonas, Alfred Molina (Spider-Man's Dr. Octopus) and Sir Ben Kingsley, the Prince of Persia movie is based on PoP: Sands of Time, and is the first in a trilogy of movies written by Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner and directed by Jerry Bruckheimer.

Playstation Store Gets PixelJunk Eden, Rock Band Tracks, and Three Demos

Sony has rolled out new PlayStation Store content starting with the organic platformer PixelJunk Eden ($9.99), Soul Calibur IV: Customization Equipment 1 ($1.49), four new Rock Band tracks ($1.99 for Staind's This is It, Scars on Broadway's They Say, and Testament's Electric Crown, while thenewno2's Yomp goes for $0.99). Plenty of material to try out with demos for LEGO Indiana Jones, Facebreaker, and Madden 09. There are of course also the usual game/movie trailers, PS3 themes and wallpapers.

Activision Blizzard Financial Result Reveals New CoD, Guitar Hero and More...

During Activision's Q1 2009, net revenues increased 32%, and with the newly combined forces, Activision Blizzard's calender year '08 financial outlook already exceeds the '09 targets. During the follow-up conference call, Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith revealed next year will see "multiple" new Guitar Hero titles that will broaden the franchise's impact, as well as an all-new Call of Duty using leapfrog studio strategy, meaning it will be developed by Infinity Ward. Also expected are an unannounced racing game from Bizzare Creations, Madagascar 2, the re-invented Tony Hawk, Marvel's Wolverine, Monsters vs. Aliens, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Transformers 2, the previously revealed Singularity, Prototype, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and others.

Blizzard Recruiting for New MMO Currently in Development

During the Activision Blizzard conference call, Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime revealed that while Age of Conan had some initial success, 40% of the people who left for Funcom's MMO have already returned to World of Warcraft. In a more interested tidbit, Morhaime revealed that Blizzard is currently hiring for a new MMO in development, but for "competitive reasons," no details were given. In the Q&A afterwards, Morhaime stated there are no plans to bring WoW to consoles. He revealed that testing on the Wrath of the Lich King expansion was proceeding well, and although he didn't confirm the previous "before end of the year" date, he did say it will NOT be during the July-September quarter.
