At E3, Square Enix announced that it would be bringing FF XIII to the Xbox 360, but at its DK Sigma3173 event, series director Motomu Toriyama revealed that development has not started yet, as the team has yet to receive any debug units. PS3 fans will be able to try out a quite large demo in March 2009 on a bonus demo disc that will come with the Blu-ray release of FF VII: Advent Children.

Volition, Inc.'s third-person shooter franchise will make its open-world, next-gen debut with Red Faction: Guerrilla. Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, this third-person open-world action-shooter will return to Mars and once again re-define the limits of destruction-based game-play.

Diablo III is an action RPG where you create a hero from one of five distinct classes, each equipped with an array of spells and abilities, and adventure through rich and varied settings, unraveling an epic storyline and engaging in combat with hordes of monsters and challenging bosses. Last month Diablo fans had started a petition, which currently has over 50k signatures, expressing their dislike about the game's artistic direction, but according to lead designer Jay Wilson it won't matter as it's too far into the development to make any changes, and the team is happy with the current style.

Ar tonelico 2 is an RPG that seamlessly combines simulation with role-playing, allowing gamers to not only customize weapons and items, but now design their character’s personalities, skills, and appearance through virtual interaction. Also past events will intersect with future game play as well as the outcome of the game.

In tow with Valve, Blizzard is planning to add to StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3 but is starting its experiment with the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion which will track player's achievements and centralize the info into Blizzard Account according to an interview with WoW lead designer Jeff Kaplan. As more of its games get added, the system will migrate to an Xbox Live type gamerscore where players can compare statistics from their various Blizzard games with other people.

Paradox Interactive 's Mount & Blade is a single-player, third- or first-person action/role-playing game with a focus on medieval combat.

The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas add-on provides a total new area – the seas of Northern Europe, where trading might be as promising as roaming the dangerous waters as a pirate. Last month Microsoft revealed that it was reducing the price of its 20GB unit to $300 while at the same time introducing a 60GB edition for $380. According to Ars Technica there might be more as its sources revealed Microsoft might hack off another $50 off the entire model lineup, the HD less Xbox 360 Arcade would go from $279 to $199, while the 60GB Xbox 360 Pro gets reduced from $ 350 to $299, and the high end 120GB Xbox 360 Elite would be sold for $399 instead of its original $449 price.

Originally scheduled in 2000 as a DreamCast title, Thunder Force VI is a side scrolling shooter game in development for the PS2, directed by SEGA's Tetsu Okano, known for Segagaga, Astro Boy: Omega Factor and Gunstar Super Heroes.
