Namco today announced Ridge Racer 6 has shipped to retail outlets throughout North America. EA and DICE today announced that the expansion pack for Battlefield 2 is now shipping to retail outlets and available via download. Battlefield 2: Special Forces brings the intensity and excitement of its predecessors into the realm of covert ops with the latest, most technologically advanced vehicles and weapons systems available to man.

The story for the game was inspired by the H.G. Wells alien invasion classic novel written in 1898, but is retold within the context of a contemporary setting. The viewpoint character is a law student currently serving as a helicopter gunner in the National Guard. The game begins on the fourth day of the Invasion, with the player ferrying a Special Forces team into Downtown Manhattan for a mission that will decide the outcome of the War.

Monster Hunter Portable will be a port of the PS2 version of Monster Hunter G with a number of changes to accommodate the handheld device. Scheduled for release in Japan December 1st, no announcement or release date for Europe or North America has been revealed yet.

Ballerium now celebrates its 30th beta round and everybody is invited to try MMO-RTS Ballerium for free, no strings attached, no credit card required, and no ads displayed. Having gone through possibly the largest list of hurdles, including Majorem (the developer) running out of money several times, Ballerium seem to gain better appreciation from its testers now than it did before. As a result, the developers now decided to let anyone onto the servers on a fully open beta, create an account and register.

Mad Catz today launched an extensive line of products for Microsoft Xbox 360. Xbox 360 goes on sale tonight at midnight, and gamers are expected to be waiting in line to get them. But, as of this morning, nearly 3,000 of the hot new game consoles are currently available for pre-sale on eBay. Over the past two weeks on eBay, nearly 9,000 Xbox 360 units have been pre-sold at an Average Sold Price of nearly $550, reflecting a frenzy of bidding. Many of the pre-sold units are bundled with game cartridges (retailing at $50-$60) and accessories.

Tripwire Interactive today announced a new World War II PC game, Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45. Tripwire will deliver its award-winning first person shooter via Steam, Valve's online content delivery system. The original Red Orchestra won Nvidia's "$1,000,000 Make Something Unreal" contest. Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 is a standalone follow-up, built on Epic's Unreal 2.5 EngineTM, that introduces new gameplay and features.

Disgaea 2 is the sequel to Nippon Ichi 2003 RPG hit title Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. The state of Texas sued Sony music label BMG under its new anti-spyware law, saying Sony's anti-piracy XCP technology used on music CDs leaves huge security holes on consumers' computers. The music CD automatically installed a copy-protection program when discs were put into a PC, to restrict the user from copying a single cd more than three times. Online webuser discovered that the application, and its subsequent removal tool, left computers wide open for virus attacks. After a storm of criticism, Sony recalled the discs last week.

Infinium Labs announced today that its president and CEO Kevin Bachus has left the company to pursue other opportunities. Greg Koler has been appointed as interim CEO, president, chief financial officer and director.
