Today Global Star Software announced that they have gone gold with their upcoming 3D sports simulation, Take-Out Weight Curling. This title will represent one of the first ever 3D simulations of this traditionally Canadian winter sport, which has exploded in popularity across the globe as of late, especially since being featured prominently at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Winter Games.

Day Of Shiping The Games!

Today several games have shipped to stores so you can expect them to actually BE on the shevles in the next few days ... Almost a month after the PS2 release and a good week since the gold announcement, Eidos Interactive has announced the shipping of Commandos: Men of Courage for Xbox. As with the PlayStation 2 version, the Xbox version of the game has players taking control of an elite group of commandos in the midst of WWII. The game was developed by Pyro Studios and carries an MSRP of $49.99 USD. Capcom has announced the release of Dino Stalker for PlayStation 2. With a script written by those behind Resident Evil and Onimusha, Dino Stalker puts players in the role of WWII veteran pilot Lt. Mike Wired. After being hurled back in time, Wired must venture through various pre-historic lands and battle fourteen species of dinosaurs to return home. The game supports the GunCon 2 light gun and is rated “M” for mature by the ESRB. Microsoft Game Studios announced today that it has shipped its futuristic racer, Quantum Redshift, to stores nationwide. Developed exclusively for the Xbox by Curly Monsters Ltd., Quantum Redshift allows players to race on 16 tracks from around the world at speeds reaching 650 mph, compete against friends in the four-player split-screen mode, choose from 16 different pilots, and more.

Microsoft Game Studios just let us know that they have launched the Rallisport Challenge official Web site for the PC version. Rallisport Challenge is a slick racing game first popularized on the Xbox. The site has all the latest on the game such as a features, a screenshot slideshow, streaming video footage, system requirements (and list of supported video cards), details on the four race types, the various racing classes and the 29 fully licensed cars in the game. Golden Joystick Awards Is Announced

Today the official nominations for this year’s Golden Joystick Awards are announced. Amongst the front-runners at this stage are EA Games’ Medal of Honor franchise, which has been nominated in five categories (including Game of the Year and Online Game of the Year), Take Two’s Grand Theft Auto III (three nominations) and Blizzard’s WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos (also three nominations). In total, more than 60 computer and video games, products and services have been nominated across 14 separate categories.

'Grandia Xtreme' (PS2) Goes Gold

Enix America's sequel to Grandia for PS2, Grandia Xtreme has gone gold and will be available in stores on September 30th. This adventure-RPG hybrid, featuring voices from Hollywood actors such as Mark Hamill, Dean Cain and Lisa Loeb, is set in a fully 3D-rendered world and contains an elaborate mix of real-time and turn-based battle systems in which the elemental powers of Fire, Air, Earth and Water can be wielded against opponents. Grandia Xtreme comes on the heels of the re-released version of the Dreamcast-title Grandia 2 for PS2 and the PC.

Sierra Entertainment today announced that Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest has shipped to retail stores in North America. Developed by Mad Doc Software, Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest is the official expansion pack for Gamespy.com's 2001 "PC Game of the Year," Empire Earth. The real-time strategy game has sold over one million copies worldwide.

Silent Hill 2: Inner Fears takes players to the eerie town of Silent Hill, where they assume the role of James Sunderland. James has received a cryptic letter from his wife, asking him to meet her in Silent Hill, a place that holds great meaning for the couple. What would normally be a comforting, romantic letter scares and confuses James, as his wife has been dead for three years. The mystery of the letter compels him to return to the surreal horror and all-too-real danger in the monster-ridden town of Silent Hill.

'No One Lives Forever 2' - Demo Available NOW

As expected the demo version of No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way has been released and can be found on FilePlanet (registration required) and also at Gigex. The demo is a 158 MB download, and according to plan, offers "four levels total from three of the game's 15 chapters.
