On the heals of signing a game publishing deal with leading U.K. video game developer Bits Studio Ltd., global video game publisher, Kemco U.S.A., INC., announced today that it is on a mission at this week’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Jose to acquire additional externally-developed game properties. Director of R&D for Kemco, Colin Gordon will be attending the show and will be reachable to prospective game developers.

Skylab's founders include original team members from game developer Ritual Entertainment and publisher Gathering of Developers. Skylab Entertainment is dedicated to developing the next generation of interactive entertainment for tomorrow's gaming systems, and is hard at work on their first, unannounced title.

More Rock And Hip-Hop To Amplitude For PS2

Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced today that five additional major recording artists have agreed to provide music and video content for the upcoming rhythm-action game, Amplitude, exclusively for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system. Adding to the mass-appealing music roster of Amplitude, newly signed acts include Herbie Hancock, Papa Roach, Baldwin Brothers, Production Club, and Manchild. These artists will join other major recording artists on the Amplitude roster that include blink 182, David Bowie, Dieselboy, Freezepop, Garbage, Logan 7, Mekon, Quarashi, and Weezer. Developed by Harmonix Music Systems, Amplitude allows players to become a rhythmical DJ and jam with more than 25 diverse songs in virtual, vibrant, interactive musical environments while mixing and remixing hit songs during offline and online gameplay.

Activision Value Publishing, a division of Activision, Inc. is launching a first strike against the competition with "Apache Air Assault", a first-person combat-action flight game for the PC. At the controls of the legendary AH-64 Apache, players will be able to pound hard targets and tanks into submission and engage in air combat with hostile aircraft. "Apache Air Assault" is currently available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $19.99 and carries a rating of "T" for teen by the ESRB, with a descriptor for violence.
