'StarCraft II' Chapters Considered Addons After All ?

StarCraft II will feature the return of the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg races, overhauled and re-imagined with Blizzard's approach to game balance, designed to be the ultimate competitive RTS game. While Blizzard stated that the 2nd and 3rd episodes in the SC II trilogy are standalone titles, in a recent interview lead designer Dustin Browder referred to them as "the core game" and "the two expansion sets." Has Blizzard's strategy changed, a slip of the tongue, or an honest mistake?

The games industry has weathered the bad economy for quite a bit now, and while games are still selling well the past few months have shown that developers and publishers a like are bracing for the inevitable impact. A few weeks back Sony announced big layoffs, as did EA, various developers have merged or shut down, and now Microsoft announced that it will be laying off 17% of its workforce, a total of 15,000 employees will get the pink slip in the new year.

With the New Xbox Experience, Xbox 360 fans have been able to customize their avatars with various features and attributes. Microsoft promised it would be releasing new items every 2 weeks. Making good on its promise, you can now pimp out your avatar with two new outfits from Tomb Raider's Lara Croft, as well as new rings, caps, gloves, pants, and other gizmos.

Resident Evil 5 is the forthcoming installment in the Resident Evil survival horror series, promising to revolutionize the series by delivering an unbelievable level of detail, realism and control. A few months back a PC version surfaced in a Capcom release list, which was removed/denied shortly thereafter, but a recent preview in the latest issue of GameStar magazine has the PC edition scheduled for summer (July) 2009.
