A narrative-driven action experience BioShock allows players to do the impossible as they journey through an amazing, immersive and terrifying world. The PS3 version of 2K's genetically enhanced game is getting new features and content, such as trophies, but also an exclusive Survivor mode, which is a new difficulty mode.

SCEA is expanding the availability of its PlayStation Network Cards, which can be used to purchase content for PS3 and PSP systems, to additional major retailers such as Walmart, Best Buy, select Sam’s Club outlets in October 2008, and at Barnes & Noble College Bookstores locations in November 2008.

SF IV features a mix of returning favorites such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile along with new characters created for this game, such as Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, and Rufus. Characters and environments are rendered in stylized 3D, while the game is played in the classic 2D perspective with additional 3D camera flourishes.

A leaked Blockbuster memo reveals that it will be dropping the price of the discontinued 40GB PS3 model from $360 to $299. The 40GB model has been replaced by an $500 80GB version, which lacks two USB ports and backward compatibility with PS2 titles, but that model is also getting replaced later this year by a higher end version with a 160GB HD. SCEA has stated in the past that it would not drop the price of the PS3, so this is probably just a move to clear the old stock.

PES 2009 has undergone a graphical update to ensure its players look and move even more like their real-life counterparts. Similarly, all-new options allow users to tailor the game to their own tastes, while new moves, innovative new control elements and key online elements will further the realism of the new game.

The Georgia Game Developers Association will host a college fair for high school students on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 (10 am–2 pm) at the SIEGE 2008 event in Atlanta for students interested in becoming game designers, programmers, artists and more, showcasing national schools such as SMU's Guildhall, AIA, SCAD, DeVry and Westwood.
