Take Two decided today that it would temporarily put the July 10 release on hold to "further explore its options."

The team at DICE has created a brand new map for Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142. Highway Tampa will be made available to Battlefield 2 players for free courtesy of Intel later this month. The map for Battlefield F2142 will follow in the coming months.

Epicenter Studios announced its Wii exclusive Real Heroes: Firefighter, putting players in the soon-to-be soot-stained boots of a rookie firefighter who has just been assigned to a busy metropolitan fire station. Players will undergo a “baptism of fire” in an escalating array of emergency situations.

Phantom EFX's Darkest of Days, using 8Monkey Labs' proprietary Marmoset game engine, is a story-rich, first-person shooter presenting an intriguing story of time-travel to some of the darkest periods in the history of mankind.

StarCraft II will feature the return of the Protoss, Terran, and Zerg races, overhauled and re-imagined with Blizzard's approach to game balance, designed to be the ultimate competitive RTS game. Blizzard confirmed that demo stations will be set up at the convention, and attendees can sample the new units and gameplay elements for themselves in multiplayer battles.
