Take Two Developing New 'Civilizations' Title

After several preliminary financials statements, due to the internal backdating investigation, Take Two has finally released a final 2006 statement. Overall revenue is slightly down, and last year it recorded a loss, compared to a small profit the year prior. Most interesting is the mention of a new installment in Sid Meier's Civilization strategy franchise, scheduled for fiscal 2008, which means no earlier than Nov. 1st, 2007.

Microsoft has kicked off the registration period for the upcoming Games for Windows Live beta testing, opportunities that will only be available for a limited time. To be considered you will need to complete the Games for Windows - Live Beta application survey. Games for Windows Live is the upcoming online service that will allow multiplayer connectivity between PC Xbox 360.

Pogo Island includes five games, the colored-stone-grouping Phlinx, the balloon-popping Poppit!, the color-matching Squelchies, a card-based Tri-Peaks Solitaire, the scrambled-word challenge Word Whomp, as well as meta game that challenges players to find Pogo mascots across the backdrop of Pogo Island.

THQ Developing 'Warhammer 40,000' MMO

THQ has expanded its development agreement with tabletop game publisher Games Workshop, to not only make RTS titles based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe, but extend into the MMO market, according to this GameSpot interview. Initial indications were that Relic would be taking on the project, but as it turns out Vigil Games will be taking on the task.
