Eidos Interactive today announced that the release date for the upcoming game Battlestations: Midway has been set for early Q1 2007 for the Xbox 360 and the PC in North America, to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the Battle of Midway.

'The Battle for Middle-earth II' (X360) Gets Xbox Live Patch

EA has released the first patch for the Xbox 360 version of Battle For Middle-Earth 2. The v1.01 patch is available through Xbox Live, and addresses a few technical issues, the most notable being the multiplayer issue regarding users disconnecting during multiplayer matches and not receiving a loss for foul play.

Xbox Live Going Down For Maintenance

Microsoft announced that on Tuesday September 19th from 0200-0500 PST Xbox Live will be offline for maintenance. As a result, the ‘My Xbox’ section of Xbox.com will be unavailable, and you'll be able to read but not post in the Xbox.com forums. This is just routine maintenance, no new features are going to be implemented.

Universal Studios Supports HD DVD Over Blu-ray

At last week's electronics design show CEDIA EXPO 2006, Universal Studios Home Entertainment President Craig Kornblau came out in support of HD DVD, compared to Sony's Blu-ray. “The reviews are in and HD DVD is hands down the leader in picture quality, audio experiences and interactive capabilities that have never been seen before,” said Kornblau. Recent head to head tests either came out in favor of HD DVD, or resulted in a draw.
