In UT3 you assume the role of a futuristic warrior engaged in contests of intense shooting battles against skilled opponents, controlled either by human contestants online or by A.I. In December AGEIA will release a PhysX UT3 Mod-Kit offering modders everything they need to create PhysX-powered content. In the meantime AGEIA has released two new PhysX enabled maps.

Philips announced that it has made an agreement with id Software to provide an amBX-enabled Mod for Raven Software's sci-fi FPS Quake 4. amBX allows developers to use light, color, sound, rumble and even air flow through enabled devices to create a full sensory surround experience.

Ubisoft released its results for the six months ended Sept. 30, 2007, reporting sales are up 52%, driven by Assassin's Creed, which has already surpassed 1 million units sold, as well as Beowulf, Naruto and Rayman 2. Ubisoft also revealed that Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will be released during the Q4 of fiscal 2007-08, which will unfortunately be joined by Haze (originally due Q3). Splinter Cell Conviction has also been pushed until fiscal 2008-09 (second half of 2008).

The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu reveals that SEGA is working on a remake of the 1996 Sega Saturn title NiGHTS into Dreams, prequel to the upcoming Journey of Dreams for the Wii. The new version will feature 16:9 widescreen, updated graphics, as well as video, art, and stills from the marketing & game production. Currently only scheduled for release in Japan on February 21, 2008.

Currently scheduled for a Fab. 2008 released in Japan, Space Invaders Extreme is a remake of one of the first games ever released. While the core of the game has not changed much it seems the developers went all psychedelic with the backgrounds.

Hollywood studio Lionsgate is fast-tracking a movie based on the freshly acquired rights to Eidos' action game Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, according to
Times Online. Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton are said to be in the running to play death row escapees, "flawed mercenary" Kane and "medicated psychopath" Lynch, respectively. Michael Bay of "The Transformers" has apparently signed on as the producer, with the script written by newcomer Kyle Ward.

It seems French developer Cyanide is not only working on bringing its Blood Bowl license to consoles, but also has several other titles in the works. Its recently opened Montreal, Canada studio is working on a new dynamic 3D animation engine, an add-on for its recent hack 'n' slash title Loki, and the Blood Bowl NDS version. The 2008 edition of the perennial Pro Cycling Manager will be released, as usual, just before the start of the Tour de France (June 2008).
