Konami released its Q1 2009 financial results for the April-June quarter, revealing revenue went up 17% compared to the same period last year, while income jumped 65% dominated by the June 12 release of Metal Gear Solid 4, which has 3 million copies in two weeks. Kojima Productions' stealth action shooter boosted Konami's PS3 numbers from 1.3% last year to 57% this quarter, NDS, PS2 and PSP revenue dropped while Wii and X360 increased.

At E3, Square Enix announced that it would be bringing FF XIII to the Xbox 360, but at its DK Sigma3173 event, series director Motomu Toriyama revealed that development has not started yet, as the team has yet to receive any debug units.
