Harmonix and MTV Games announced the latest slate of downloadable tracks available for Rock Band. Starting March 18, 2008 players will be download the Earache Thrash Pack, which includes At the Gates' Blinded By Fear, Evile's Thrasher, and The Haunted's D.O.A. ($1.99 each/$5.49 pack).

Effective immediately, the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) will cease operations. Therefore, all CPL events currently scheduled for 2008 are hereby canceled. The CPL was launched in June 1997 with the mission of promoting and sanctioning video game competitions as a professional sport.

Since we know that Mass Effect is meant to be a trilogy, the sequel announcement is no surprise.
