Developed by Gameloft, Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles will be set prior to the console versions. You'll be able to pull off acrobatic moves in a fully 3D environment, interrogate informers and pick pocket by using the stylus, master sword fighting, stealth assassinations, combo attacks, and a variety of weapons.

Pocket Books announced it has acquired world rights to publish the novelization of Ubisoft's upcoming action/adventure game Assassin's Creed (from the makers of the Prince of Persia). Set in the year 1191, you play the role of Altair, fighting to save the Holy Land from war and corruption.

Today Ubisoft announced that the version of its new Assassin’s Creed franchise for the Xbox 360 will launch with the PS3 system version of the game in early 2007. Assassin’s Creed is being developed by an all-star team from Ubisoft’s world-class Montreal studio.
