Geson Hatchett: The pack-in cartridge with the Nintendo DS contains a demo of Metroid Prime: Hunters, a glimpse at the future of first-person shooters. On those merits, many people have been waiting for this, myself included. In addition, Metroid's proven itself to be a viable franchise even in 3D, and merely the promise of another installment is reason enough by itself to salivate.

Nintendo announced today that Metroid Prime Pinball will bring all the bumping, flipping and tilting of a real pinball table to a portable video game system on Oct. 24, and will include the Nintendo DS Rumble Pak, which delivers vibrations of various intensity and duration to immerse the player in a realistic pinball experience.

Metroid Prime Hunters will launch Q1 of 2006, complete with access to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Nintendo's upcoming online gaming service, which will debut before the end of the year. The new single-player mission of Metroid Prime Hunters will be playable this weekend at the Penny Arcade Expo in Bellevue, Wash, where people can see three previously unreleased bounty hunter characters in the game.

Gamespot was the first to notice that Nintendo has added a section for
Metroid Prime 2 to their website. I guess this could be considered some sort off official confiormation that the sequel to last year's hit title Metroid Prime is coming up indeed. No details at all have been revealed but i am sure now that the cat is out of the bag we will hear more about it shortly.

Nintendo and Retro Studios have combined their creative genius to bring the video game event of the year, the long awaited release of Metroid Prime, exclusive to Nintendo GameCube. 21st March marks the European launch of this blockbuster title, and the return of Samus Aran, the ice-cool bounty hunter who'll once again lock horns will the evil Space Pirates. Metroid Prime has already received outstanding reviews in the US, selling a staggering 250,000 copies within one week of its release.
Samus first stopped the evil Space Pirates and Mother Brain from amassing an army of Metroids on the planet Zebes. Then she was called on to finish the job on SR388, ultimately ridding the universe of all but a single Metroid larva. In Super Metroid, for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Samus thwarted Mother Brain's attempt to snatch the captive Metroid larva from the scientists on Ceres. Now, Samus is once again called to investigate Space Pirate activities on the unexplored Tallon IV. Here adventure begins as she enters a mysterious derelict spaceship.
