Activision is delivering big-time fun to the palm of gamers’ hands this fall with a diverse line-up of titles for the PSP, NDS and GBA platforms, such as GUN Showdown, Over the Hedge: Hammy Goes Nuts!, Spider-Man: Battle for New York, and console gaming in Activision Hits Remixed.

AGEIA Technologies and Trinigy today announced at the GC Developers Conference that Trinigy's Vision Game Engine will be integrated with AGEIA PhysX technology.

It seems at least one X360 fan got lucky as he was able to purchase Microsoft's Xbox Live Vision camera, a month ahead of its scheduled Sept. 19 release date, at his local Toys 'R' Us. Activision released its financial numbers for Q1 of fiscal 2007, and while revenue dropped from $241 to $188 million, and net losses went up from $3.6 to $18 million, the overall results were better than expected, mainly due to strong sales of X-Men: ToG and Over The Hedge. The subsequent conference call revealed that Enemy Territory: Quake Wars has a tentative release date set for Q4 2007 (ends March 2007) and executives were impressed by the popularity of the two Call of Duty 2 mappacks, which garnered a total of nearly $1 million.

Comic fans can see their favorite Marvel characters in action when Activision showcases the highly anticipated Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Spider-Man 3: The Game and Spider-Man: Battle for New York games in the Activision/Marvel booth #4315 at the International Comic-Con Convention in San Diego from July 19 through July 23.

A regulatory filing with the SEC reveals that Activision has been sued by one of its shareholders over its issuance of stock options, in particular backdating, a practice that involves changing the date of a stock option from the day it was actually issued to an earlier date, usually when the stock was trading at a lower price, which makes the option more valuable. As many as sixty companies are currently under investigation for similar practices.

Activision today announced that it has opened a publishing office in Seoul Korea through the acquisition of CSR Entertainment's software distribution operations. The new office will enable Activision to fully leverage its product portfolio in the territory, particularly the upcoming online multiplayer action game Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.

Activision and DreamWorks Animation announced today that Activision will be opening a dedicated studio facility on the DreamWorks campus. The move will facilitate simultaneous co-development between DreamWorks' CG feature films and Activision games based on those films.
