Buena Vista Interactive, a publishing label of Buena Vista Games, Inc., today announced that mod tools for TRON 2.0 are now available for download. These powerful tools will allow gamers to create new TRON 2.0 levels, maps, skins, weapons and voice packs for the critically acclaimed first-person action adventure game that received Editor's Choice Awards from the industry's leading PC game publications. In addition, players will be able to exchange their mods on the TRON 2.0 Web site beginning in November.

THX Ltd., the leading provider of product certification and venue design for the entertainment and consumer electronics industries, today announced the creation of a new sound and visual certification standard for videogame development environments. Electronic Arts is the first company to develop and publish THX Certified Games using these standards. EA has incorporated the THX performance standards into its mixing rooms and studios worldwide, ensuring the quality and integrity of creative content is maintained at every stage of video game development. The first THX Certified Games will be "SSX 3," "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King," which is based on New Line Cinema's upcoming film, and "Medal of Honor Rising Sun."

THQ and Nickelodeon today announced that Jimmy Neutron: Jet Fusion is now available for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and Nintendo GameCube at retail outlets throughout North America. A one-hour television special with the same storyline will air on Nickelodeon on October 13, the day THQ is scheduled to release the Game Boy Advance version of Jimmy Neutron: Jet Fusion.

Monolith has now released a singleplayer demo for their recent cyberspace 3D action game TRON 2.0 . Inspired by TRON, the ground-breaking science-fiction film, TRON 2.0 is a first-person PC game that delivers immersive story-driven gameplay packed with intense action, virtual viral villains and a unique visual style.

20 years on, the most famous re-publisher of them all is set to return to the industry. Mastertronic will be re-launched by games software industry veterans Paul Patterson and Andy Payne and the company's mission will be true to the original, all be it updated to handle the demands of the modern software publishing industry.

Besides bringing many a legendary 8 bit game to a true mass market (One Man and his Droid, Hunter Patrol, Spellbound, Phantoms of the Asteroid and Master of Magic to name a few), Mastertronic also brought the Sega Master System into Europe in the late 80's. Riding the crest of three hit product launches, Nintendo of America Inc. currently claims the best selling console game, the best selling portable games, and the best selling hardware system in America.
