Rockstar's open-ended crime series has arrived on the next-gen consoles with Grand Theft Auto IV, returning the franchise to New York situated around the mysterious protagonist Nikolai. As predicted GTA IV has eclipsed the previous record set by GTA: San Andreas in 2004 (501k units). On launch day, Tuesday April 29, GTA IV sold 609k units in the UK, lead by the X360 version with 335K copies and the PS3 edition with 274K units.

Qmotions has signed a North American licensing agreement with Microsoft, allowing it to incorporate Microsoft’s Xbox 360 wireless technology in its game controllers. The company’s first product will be the Qmotions-Big Air action game controller, a full size skateboard that operates with the X360 and is compatible with popular skateboarding games.

Rock Band allows you to perform music from the world’s biggest rock artists with your friends as a virtual band using drum, bass/lead guitar and microphone, in addition to offering online connectivity.
Last week EA finally revealed that it would be releasing Rock Band in Europe on May 23, but only on Xbox 360 as Microsoft scored a timed exclusive. Apart from the pricing outrage (inexplicably the bundle in twice as expensive) it turns out PS2, Wii and PS3 gamers will have to wait until August.
A sequel to the original Xbox title, Ninja Gaiden 2 has players once again assuming the role of Ryu Hayabusa as they guide the ninja hero on a quest to avenge his clan and prevent the destruction of the human race.

Toshiba may have conceded in the HD war, that doesn't mean Microsoft will throw in the towel, even if its only with a new firmware update for the Xbox 360 HD DVD player. In UT3, you assume the role of a futuristic warrior engaged in contests of intense shooting battles against skilled opponents, controlled by human contestants online or by AI, fought with the most powerful sci-fi weapons and vehicles. Epic's Mark Rein said "We don’t have a particular release date yet but we’re going to be playing it with some members of the press in two weeks at Midway’s next Gamers Day in Las Vegas." A recent survey conducted by Netflix asked its members about their interest in the ability to stream movies to their TVs by using Microsoft's Xbox 360. While the online rentail outlet did not confirm an impending agreement with the Redwood software giant, earlier this year it already teamed up with LG Electronics to develop a set-top box to stream HD movies to TVs, and it is no secret that the Microsoft is always interested in expanding its movie library on Xbox Marketplace.

Only a week ago Microsoft dropped the retail price of its Xbox 360 lineup in the UK (£159.99 for the lower end model), and it is already paying off. "During week 11, Xbox 360 enjoyed a 36% jump on week 10, which is a nice refreshing uplift for the console" ChartTrack director Dorian Bloch told
MCV. "That was just for the Friday and Saturday after the price cut. Microsoft will be especially pleased to see that the overall hardware market was down – except PS3, which saw a very slight 6 % rise."
