300 movie director Zack Snyder, currently working on Watchmen, has signed an agreement with EA to develop three original games with EA’s Los Angeles studio in Playa Vista. While the IPs will be owned by EA, Snyder’s Cruel & Unusual Films will have the option to produce film adaptations based on those properties.

According to the
Nikkei business, Nintendo is working on a new version of its popular NDS handheld, one that lets users snap photos (and possibly let those be used in-game) and play music, allowing it to compete with the iPod or cell phones. According to the report, the new DS will retail for about 20,000 yen ($189) in Japan by the end of the year and come equipped with advanced wireless communication functions.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is an all-new title in the FF franchise, although it's not part of the compilation of Final Fantasy VIII or the Ivalice Alliance. Not a standard RPG, it's labeled a dramatic progressive action title, and Tetsuya Nomura, known for Kingdom Hearts, has signed on to be the game's character designer.
