The weekend is over, let the next-gen console wars begin! Nintendo rolled out its Wii on Sunday, selling out allotments in numerous occasions, but the craze was nearly not as bad as Friday when people got mugged, stabbed or even shot at while waiting in line for a PS3. While a mere 400,000 units were shipped to stores across North America,
USAToday claims Sony will airlift up to 600,000 more units by the end of the year, though it hasn't announced where and when.

There haven't t really been any Killing Day updates, or an official announcement for that matter,
since E3/TGS 2005, and
according to PS3Land, there is a very good reason why. Ubisoft UK's Jan Sanghera confirmed that Ubisoft's next-gen shooter Killing Day has been cancelled, is no longer under development, and has been removed from its portfolio.

Take-Two announced that is has 20 games in development for the PS3, with more than seven titles from Rockstar Games, including Grand Theft Auto IV, scheduled in North American for Oct. 16, 2007 and Europe on Oct. 19, 2007. Additional Rockstar Games products include new original titles such as L.A. Noire, as well as extensions of blockbuster Rockstar Games franchises.

With the PS3 release date drawing near, several of launch titles might not make it in time. EBgames/Gamestop have updated release dates for
F.E.A.R. and
TES4: Oblivion, putting Vivendi's shooter to Jan. 1st 2007, while Bethesda's RPG is scheduled for Feb. 2007. SEGA needs extra time to incorporate downloadable content for Sonic The Hedgehog, which won't make launch date, but should still arrive before year's end. Word from EA Canada is that the PS3 edition of NBA Live 07 has been cancelled, in favor of NBA Street Homecourt.
