Rockstar's open-ended crime series returns to New York situated around the Eastern European protagonist Nikolai. The PC edition features a replay editor with Rockstar Social Club integration, expanded multiplayer, higher resolution, and match filtering. Fans anticipating the PC release may be in for a rude awakening, as both
PC Games Hardware and
Gameblog.fr are reporting that the game often doesn't start, is hampered by the DRM, has loads of hardware/gfx card issues (mainly with ATi), CTDs, texture issues, and a cumbersome install/update routine with getting the Social Club working (requires .net Framework 1.1 and .net Framework 3.5). There are
a few workarounds, and while a patch is already in the works, there is no ETA yet.

A Thai 18-year-old high school student confessed to robbing and murdering a 54-year-old taxi driver with a knife on Monday, claiming he wanted to find out if it was as easy in real life to rob a taxi as it was in GTA IV.
Police said the teen was an obsessive player of the video game, showed no sign of mental problems and confessed committing the crime explicitly because of the game. If found guilty, he faces death by lethal injection. Thailand currently has no game ratings, but the Thai distributor dropped the game due to this incident.
