Atari brand manager Ryan Wener has revealed in the Atari Forums that a demo for TimeGate Studio's 3D RTS 'Axis & Allies' is expected early October. The game is still on track for a November release and Atari will launch an 'Axis & Allies' pre-order campaign through a couple of retailers (EB, Gamestop, a few others), offering "an extra playable battle scenario (not available in either of the linear campaigns). This isn't your run-of-the-mill extra footage or game trailers. You get a full-blown extra mission for pre-ordering."

you now know why. The datacenter in Virginia, which hosts the servers, has been hit damaged by a tornado. Because water leaked into the building the servers were shut down as a precautionary measure, some hardware had taken on water, and a full inspection will take 48 hours or longer to complete.
