Namco today announced that Pac-Man World 3 has begun shipping for the PS2, Xbox, Gamecube and PC. The game will also be available on NDS and PSP in December. The 25-year old video game icon's latest adventure combines contemporary platform gameplay with both traditional Pac-Man elements and brand-new moves.

A few days ago Bungie revealed both its Halo titles will be playable on the new Xbox 360, but it seems Microsoft has been hard at work with other popular franchises as it revealed today
over 200 titles are currently playable on the X360, and titles will get added gradually. The backwards compatibility only works with the HD enabled system, not the cheap Core System, unless you upgrade. The process is enabled by software emulation, games will be playable in HD with antialiasing, which will be freely downloadable, burn on cd and insert in the X360, or install automatically through Xbox Live. Xbox save games and paid downloadable content however will not be transferable to the Xbox 360.

A while back, Microsoft announced that the 360 would have some level of backward compatibility. Today Bungie revealed that both Halo titles will work on the Xbox 360, with no alterations, just use your old games and plop them in. The only difference will be the somewhat better quality on HDTVs due to it being widescreens and higher rez. Halo's splitscreen and Halo 2's multiplayer modes are still functional as before.
