DAS Entertainment is pleased to announce that it has signed a deal to acquire the Freedom Games development studio. DAS Entertainment will continue to support and develop the Squad Assault series, which started with Eric Young's Squad Assault: West Front, released this month to retail stores. DAS Entertainment also plans to use the Freedom Games brand to bring its own titles to the retail gaming market.

Sentry Studios has released version 2.9 of their military squad based UT total conversion "Infiltration". In response to the #1 request from the community, DICE & EA are proud to announce the inclusion of anti-cheat measures in the next patch for Battlefield 1942. The Battlefield team is committed to providing an exploit-free gaming environment for members of our community. Our goal is to have measures in place which address both current and future cheats. As such, after researching existing anti-cheat programs, we've determined that Punkbuster suits our purposes perfectly. We'll keep everyone updated as to our progress. For now, we have successfully integrated Punkbuster into the upcoming 1.6 patch and we're in the process of testing it (thanks Blues).

Tecmo announced today that Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly, the sequel to the terrifying survival-horror game, Fatal Frame, has gone gold and will be available in stores from December 9th. Fatal Frame 2: Crimson follows the tale of twin sisters trapped in an abandoned village and forced to deal with spirits of a once sacred, now demonic ritual. The "psychological thriller" features a unique camera-combat system that is now upgradeable, a more disturbing atmosphere and setting, and lots of ghoulish apparitions. Atari today announced the development of a second game based on Terminator3: Rise of the Machines, the summer blockbuster motion picture from Intermedia, IMF and C2 Pictures. Terminator 3: Redemption will take players for another ride into the post-apocalyptic universe presented in the feature film as they become the series signature icon, Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator. A playable demo of the new action game is available with the retail version of Atari’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, which is currently available at retail stores nationwide.
