Last year, Codemasters snagged the Formula 1 license from Sony, but there hasn't been much news about the titles in development ... until today. Codemasters is prepping F1 2009 on the PSP and Wii, featuring official tracks (such as the Singapore night race, Valencia Marina Bay circuit and the new Abu Dhabi season finale), cars, teams and drivers (such as Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, and UK world champ Hamilton), KERS, slick tires and the new aerodynamic regulations. Both platforms will have multiplayer capabilities, with F1 2010 (powered by GRiD's EGO Engine) adding the usual XBL/PSN capabilities to the mix.

recruiting spree lately as it ramps up development on a new, Unreal Engine 3-powered, multiplatform title. Kaos Studios' first title was the FPS game Frontlines: Fuel of War, originally developed for X360, PC, and PS3, but the latter version was eventually
canceled. One of the new
job openings requires "experience with creating content for XBL and/or PSN," indicating the new title might be coming to PS3 as well.

Ascaron is putting the finishing touches on the console version of its action/rpg Sacred 2, but it seems the lengthy development process and several delays may have cost the German developer a little bit too much as it has filed for bankruptcy protection on April 14, 2009. Ascaron is looking for interesting parties to acquire the studio, and to sweeten the pot it revealed that an add-on for Sacred 2 is already in development, scheduled for this summer, as well as a third installment in the franchise.
