Microsoft Game Studios and Turbine Entertainment Software Corp. today announced that "Asheron's Call 2" fans will have the chance to participate in the making of their next massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) through the "Asheron's Call 2 Name That Monster Contest." Those who enter will be able to submit name proposals for one of the game's boss monsters. In addition to having their name selection edged into the lore of "Asheron's Call 2," the winner will receive a beta account. The crew at Turbine will judge and choose the winning name, which will be announced at a later date.

This new patch v1.07 offers new multiplayer features, such as extending multiplayer to the strategic map as well as introducing a hot seat mode for multiplayer duels on a single computer. Update patch v.1.07 fixes a number of issues that were found in 1.06 dealing with the strategic multiplayer mode, including multiple problems with connections and the loading of previously saved games. Blizzard Entertainment, a studio of the Games division of Vivendi Universal Publishing, today announced that Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos has surpassed 1 million units sold worldwide, according to EDI sell-through, internal company estimates and reports from key retail accounts around the world. More than 4.4 million units of the game have been shipped to retail to satisfy demand for Warcraft III, which is now the fastest-selling PC game ever, surpassing the records set in 2000 and 2001 by two other Blizzard titles, Diablo II and the expansion set, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, respectively.

Conflict: Desert Storm is due to be published by SCi in September 2002 on Sony Playstation 2, Microsoft Xbox and PC. It will be published on the Nintendo Gamecube later in the autumn. UK Development Company, Vulcan Software, are proud to announce the release of Space World, the fourth installment of their simplistically complex puzzle game, Timekeepers, for the PC. Timekeepers is a conversion of the 1995 Amiga Classic with enhanced graphics, new sounds and music, and additional character animations. Compared to Lemmings in it's day, but instead of assigning commands to the characters, the command icons are pasted directly onto the level terrain. The Timekeepers obey the commands as they walk over them.

Gamespot posted the
announcing of the expansion Heroes IV: The Gathering Storm. Here is a clip from it.
The expansion, which is scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2002, will feature more than 20 new single-player maps, six new campaigns, and four new creatures. In addition, it will contain 18 new artifacts, new campaign editor features, new heroes, and a new music track. The expansion will also include the Heroes of Might and Magic IV multiplayer update.

Earlier today Rainer grabbed down this Battlefield 1942 SinglePlayer Demo and tried it out, but he could not play it cuse it jumped back to desktop as soon as the actual game started... He tried it on a P4 1.7/Geforce4MX/WinXP, therefore we decided to test it on a Gforce2 64MB/WinXp/700Mhz computer and it worked out fine.. Anyway this vehicular
3D action game demo by Digital Illusions sports 1 mission set in Tobruk and we fired of some nice screens for you to check out below.
