Based on an updated version of the same engine technology used in Bungie's first person shooter Halo, Rebel Without a Pulse puts players in control of a wisecracking zombie named Stubbs, "who takes on an ultra-modern city of the future using nothing but his own carcass and the weapons of his possessed enemies." The game is rife with tongue-in-cheek humor, a strong storyline and innovative combat techniques. Aspyr sent out a pre-canned Q&A with Wideload Games' Alex Seropian.

EA and Viacom today announced a videogame based on The Godfather fiction is under development and will put gamers at the center of the action in one of history's most revered masterpieces. The book by Mario Puzo and classic film by Paramount Pictures serve as inspiration for the game as gamers will join the Corleone family and earn respect through loyalty and fear as they rise through the ranks to become Don in a living 1945-1955 New York. Reuters is reporting that, citing a conversation with Microsoft management, American Technology Research analyst P.J. McNealy said the company was more likely to take the wraps off its new console in May at the broader Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. A Microsoft spokeswoman confirmed McNealy's report that the new Xbox would not be shown off at GDC. Last week's financial results did point out that Microsoft has calculated a "massive advertisement campaign" for, what was described as, a Microsoft branded product, scheduled to run the last four months of 2005.
