Earlier this week,
Harmonix accused Activision of blocking its software patch to make the PS3 version of Rock Band compatible with the GH3 peripherals. Today, Activision responded by issuing a statement blaming Harmonix for not accepting an "agreement" that would have allowed the use of Guitar Hero guitar controllers with Rock Band.

Nival Interactive announces the signing of an agreement between the technology holding company Ener1 Group, which had bought Nival in 2005, and the founder of Nival Interactive, Sergey Orlovskiy, that returns full control of Nival Interactive to Orlovskiy. As a result, the U.S. office in Los Angeles, which was opened in 2006, will be closed, and the company's headquarters will return to Moscow.

Sony has rolled out its weekly PlayStation Store update with tons of new material. Just like on XBL, EA has released the Burnout Paradise demo, and the latest Rock Band Punk song pack ($5.49 or $1.99/song). After its debut last week, High Velocity Bowling gets 2 new bowling characters ($0.99/each), and Need for Speed ProStreet gets several cars ($2.49/$4.99) otherwise unlockable as you progress through the career mode. As usual there is also a slew of game and movie trailers.

One of the most anticipated UT3 features was the possibility of allowing PS3 gamers to import new community content/mods on their consoles. Now that the game has shipped, it seems that the feature is not quite ready for prime time.
Epic programmer Josh Adams revealed that the PS3 mod tools are on hold due to legal/release issues. Once finished, it requires the latest PC patch and a PS3 Mod Tools patch that adds PS3 mod support to the PC version. Once "cooked," you will need to transfer them from PC to PS3 by a supported removable media type (memory card, USB drive, etc.).
