Warcommander is one of CDV's rather unknown and smaller titles ... it could be considered a budget version of their blockbuster hit "Sudden Strike". Warcommander could be considered a lite version with somewhat less spectacular graphics but equally as much action and we enjoyed it very much (although we ARE eagerly awaiting Sudden Strike II) ... Star Trek Starfleet Command® III is the next installment in the Star Trek tactical starship combat simulator series, while also revealing that Activision has picked up the publishing reigns for SFC from Interplay. The developer of the game is not specified, but the game is expected to be released in time for this year's holiday season. This quote from Larry Goldberg, executive vice president at Activision, offers some expectations for the game as well as word that the Next Generation reference in the press release is literal: "The Starfleet Command series captures the spirit and style of Star Trek by offering large-scale, ship-to-ship tactical combat. Star Trek Starfleet Command III reinvents the legendary series by bringing it into the Star Trek: The Next Generation universe and introducing powerful new ship customization, more in-depth story missions, and a streamlined interface."

We also know that many of you are frustrated because the patch required enabling multiplayer sessions between Silent Hunter II and Destroyer Command has not been released yet. We had planned on the patch being ready by the time Destroyer Command was to arrive on the retail shelves, but unfortunately we discovered some serious problems that have required further testing and development work to make the interoperability between the two products function properly.
