Japanese magazine Famitsu has the first Xbox 360 sales numbers since its launch last weekend. Initial reports of it selling out seem to be very untrue, unless it was meant for a specific store. Out of the 159,000 total available units, only 39% were actually sold, which translates into roughly 62,000 X360s on its first two days. In comparison, the original Xbox sold 123,000 units in its first three days. Seems Microsoft has some work cut out for them ...

Already revealed last week, Ubisoft today officially announced that its internally developed action-filled flight combat game Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII is also coming to the Xbox 360.

For the first time since the Xbox 360 launch Microsoft updated its list of backwards compatible Xbox titles, adding Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon franchises to the list, eight titles in total. Unfortunately the joy was short lived as shortly thereafter, it was pulled again due to actually making other titles not work anymore, one of those being Halo 2. The new update apparently made the game only playable in 4x3 dimensions, and not the 16x9 format used by HD TVs, while also the graphics became distorted. Microsoft was made aware, pulled the new update for its emulator and a new version should be available shortly.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer will have to shop around for an X360 console this holiday season just like everybody else. "The Ballmer children do not have their Xbox 360 yet.
