Xbox 360 goes on sale tonight at midnight, and gamers are expected to be waiting in line to get them. But, as of this morning, nearly 3,000 of the hot new game consoles are currently available for pre-sale on eBay. Over the past two weeks on eBay, nearly 9,000 Xbox 360 units have been pre-sold at an Average Sold Price of nearly $550, reflecting a frenzy of bidding. Many of the pre-sold units are bundled with game cartridges (retailing at $50-$60) and accessories.

People still roaming stors or online retailers maybe have a brief chance to still get their hands on an Xbox 360 console on launch day. Circuit City's website is offering bundled ($489.95 to $679.93) or unbundled X360 ($399.99), with overnight shipping, due to arrive November 22nd. Hit this product page and roll the dice, but be aware, you won't be alone as the Circuit City page is currently getting hammered and under heavy traffic load.

EB Games will launch Microsoft's highly anticipated next generation videogame console, the Xbox 360, to pre-notified, pre-sale customers at midnight on November 21st at its flagship store at Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles.

EA today announced it has shipped its biggest launch line up of EA SPORTS titles to stores with four EA SPORTS branded games for the Xbox 360. FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup, Madden NFL 06, NBA LIVE 06 and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06 are all available for the new game system.

Dolby Laboratories announced today that the new Xbox 360 will support Dolby Digital surround sound for both games and movies. This next-generation game console includes both interactive Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound for game play, as well as Dolby Digital decoding for video playback.

Xbox save games and paid downloadable content however will not be transferable to the Xbox 360.
