Vivendi Universal Games has canceled the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Treason of Isengard for Xbox/PS2. Scheduled for release in Q4 2003, Treason of Isengard was dropped from the release schedule when it was determined that the game was not shaping up as strongly as anticipated and would likely not satisfy the expectations of Tolkien fans. Vivendi Universal Games remains committed to developing and releasing quality games based on the literary works of J.R.R. Microsoft Game Studios today announced the upcoming release of Phantom Dust, an Xbox exclusive third-person action game in which players battle opponents in real-time combat with an ever-growing arsenal of over 300 skills. Microsoft today announced that acclaimed RPG developer BioWare is currently developing Jade Empire exclusively for Xbox. BioWare, whose publishing relationship with Microsoft was announced one year ago at the Microsoft press event X02 in New York, has most recently been recognized for the smash hit Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Vivendi Universal Games today announced that Universal Studios' Home Video's upcoming DVD release of The Hulk will include game play from Vivendi Universal Games' The Hulk for the Xbox. This added value marks a milestone for the Home Video industry by allowing fans for the first time to experience both the film and related video game from the same DVD medium. The Hulk Xbox demo will be available on the action adventure DVD from Universal Studios Home Video on October 28, 2003.
