In an interview with Jiji Press, Japanese Xbox head honcho Takashi Sensui stated that Microsoft's strategic goal is to double the amount of X360 titles to 500 in 2008, spearheaded by a sequel to Mistwalker's RPG title Blue Dragon. "We're in talks with Microsoft about development of a sequel. Specifics aren't finalized, but there's a possibility that it will be produced as an online title," said Mistwalker president Hironobu Sakaguchi.

The latest issue of Japanese magazine V-Jump reveals that Namco Bandai is working on a next-gen title in the Dragon Ball Z franchise. The new title will be similar to the DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi series, published by Atari in Europe/North America, will have online multiplayer, cut-scenes driven, and support 16/9. While Level 5 are still working on bringing the newest Dragon Quest IX title the the NDS, several of its prequels, DQ IV, V and VI to be precise, are also getting converted to the NDS, with full 3D graphics. Scheduled for release this winter in Japan, no word whether Square Enix will be bringing it to Europe and/or North America.
