THQ announced results for fiscal Q3 2008, with net sales of $509.6 million, compared to last year's $475.7 million, driven by Cars: Mater-National, MX vs. ATV Untamed and SmackDown vs. Raw 2008. In the subsequent investors conference call, THQ CEO Brian Farrell revealed that Red Faction III is being developed by Volition for PS3, X360 and PC. Scheduled for fiscal 2009 (Apr. 2008 - Mar. 2009), RF3 will focus on interactive environments and destruction. First details on THQ's UFC-licensed title are expected during a pay-per-view event on Memorial Day weekend.

EA announced preliminary financial results for its fiscal Q3 revealing net revenue was up 17% ($1.5 billion compared to $1.3 billion for 2006) driven by FIFA 08, Madden 08, NBA Live 08, Need for Speed Pro Street, Rock Band (1.5 million sold), The Simpsons Game and The Sims 2 Castaway. Ubisoft reported its sales for the 3rd fiscal quarter 2007 revealing sales are up about 50% compared to last year, fueled by Assassin's Creed and its causal line of titles, beating its own guidance by nearly 10%. Uncertainty regarding Haze continues as the recent retail date changes turn out to be unsubstantiated with Ubisoft's vague "will now be released in fiscal 2008-09," meaning April 2008 at the earliest. Also revealed are new titles in the Prince Of Persia and Anno franchises.

Devil May Cry 4 is the 4th installment in Capcom's series starring Dante, the gunslinging demon hunter, and introducing a new hero, Nero, who possesses a demonic arm that can pull in enemies or use them as projectiles. Ubisoft released its results for the six months ended Sept. 30, 2007, reporting sales are up 52%, driven by Assassin's Creed, which has already surpassed 1 million units sold, as well as Beowulf, Naruto and Rayman 2. Ubisoft also revealed that Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will be released during the Q4 of fiscal 2007-08, which will unfortunately be joined by Haze (originally due Q3). Splinter Cell Conviction has also been pushed until fiscal 2008-09 (second half of 2008).

Atari has finally submitted its delayed quarterly financial report for the first quarter ended June 30, 2007, and it's not looking good. Net revenue is down from last year's $19.5 million to $10.4M, while net loss was $11.9M compared to $7.3M during the same period last year. Atari stated that it has "substantial doubt about ability to continue as a going concern."

Activision's latest financial numbers show a net revenue increase of 69% from last year's $188.2 million to $317.7M. Net income jumped from a $42.6M loss to a $28.5M gain. In the conference call, Activision executives said that while it's only been in stores for a week, GH III is the best launch title in company history, selling $100M in North America alone. Looking ahead, Activision is planning new titles in the Call of Duty, Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero franchises and has plans for new titles in cooperation with Dreamworks (Monsters Vs. Aliens, Madagascar II, Kung Fu Panda,) two unannounced superhero titles and, to top it all off, its first James Bond-licensed title.

EA released its latest financial results, revealing a loss of $195M, compared to last year's profit of $22M. As a result, EA's board approved a reorganization in order to save $25-30M, which unfortunately means layoffs and branch closures, such as its UK office in Chertsey. At the request of EA Mythic's Mark Jacobs, Warhammer Online is facing yet another delay from its original Q1 2008 date. It's been pushed to Q2 2008 (not before April), but EA execs are still excited about the coming holidays and even raised their expectations with heavy hitters such as Crysis, Hellgate: London and RockBand.

Ubisoft sales report for the six months ending Sept. 30, 2007, reveals it beat expectations with a 52% increase compared to last year fueled by GRAW 2 (PSP, PS3), Jam Session (NDS), Blazing Angels 2, The Settlers and Surf's Up. Oddly enough, Ubisoft also decided to push four unannounced titles into 2008, stating its current lineup is strong enough for the coming holiday season.
