Free Realms is a free whimsical fantasy massively multiplayer RPG from Sony Online offering lighthearted adventuring, aimed primarily at casual female gamers, and optional bonus content via micro transactions. During his keynote speech at GDC Austin, SOE president John Smedley
revealed that Free Realms now has 5 million subscribers, and that the PS3 version is tentatively scheduled for mid 2010, and that the developers are looking into implementing EyeToy support.

Having created the Lara Croft character in 1996, Toby Gard left then-developer Core Design a year later to go his own way and released Galleon: Islands of Mystery in 2004. After that, he
came to Crystal Dynamics as one of the senior designers on the Tomb Raider team, where he would complement the existing team and create Tomb Raider: Legend.
