I’m excited about Silent Hill: Origins for a whole host of reasons. I’m a rather embarrassingly large Silent Hill fanboy, for one thing. More importantly, if Konami manages to follow halfway through on their claims at E3, we’ll finally see a 3D game on the PSP that isn’t saddled with an awkward-ass control setup that requires yet lacks a second thumbstick.
That said, Origins was only present at E3 in the form of a remarkably vague trailer, and offered no gameplay to speak of. Thus, everything I’m

Hollywood Reporter reveals that Actress Radha Mitchell will topline the film adaptation of the video game "Silent Hill. Principal photography is due to begin Monday in Toronto on the suspense horror feature and will run through July 22. TriStar Pictures' movie, directed by French filmmaker Christophe Gans ("Brotherhood of the Wolf") and scheduled for 2007, is budgeted at $45 million-$50 million, with additional casting not yet final. Silent Hill is being co-produced by Resident Evil's Hadida, who will also be doing a film adaptation of Capcom's Onimusha (

While there is no official word yet, Russian developer Nival Interactive has signed the Novik mod team to bring their Silent Storm Sickle & Hammer modification to a full blown retail version. So far Sickle & Hammer is only announced for Russia, but Nival is currently looking for a Western publisher and will announce it accordingly (thanks Slaughter). "We are sorry to announce that Silent Hunter III has been postponed a couple of weeks in order to be polished and fine-tuned, the new release date is 17th March 2005.
